  It's so small in the Good Fortune that the tables are quite close together. So if you sound bit odd or loud people are likely to over hear you and you'll notice them doing so. Still, it's friendly enough in here for that not to matter much, I suppose.
  
  We went there on a Thursday night which was busy though luckily we were able to sit down straightaway. The grandmotherly lady who showed us our table gave the impression that we were in capable hands here, as proved to be the case.
  
  The food was really tasty, especially the duck poolow, which I wished I'd had myself. I had honey chilli chicken, also good, but the duck was better. Unfortunately we didn't have much time to hang over a meal for ages, because it is a good, relaxed place to sit. The service was prompt and efficient though and it wasn't too expensive.

  I remember going here the night before my wedding for some good food with some friends. It is very decently priced and the nicest thing on the menu is their 'Chicken satay', although their "Honey chili chicken' is rather great too and one of the best I've tried.
  
  If you go to this restaurant, take your time. Make sure you don't rush away and miss out on what is a good little night out. It is small inside with only a few tables, but sometimes that can really add to the atmosphere of a restaurant. It makes me feel like I have done well to get a table there and that I am really going to be looked after well. The staff here are really nice and so attentive, you can really tell they take pride in what they do and it comes across in the food.

  The Good Fortune is an old friend of mine and one that I like to visit every couple of months. It is the epitome of a top venue for a cheap and cheerful night out. All the boxes are ticked:
  
  Bring Your Own Booze
  Reasonably priced food
  No problem with sitting for 5 hours at the same table talking total drivel
  Tolerant staff
  
  You can send the whole night eating and drink in the Good Fortune for about £20. How thrifty is that, and also very good fun. The last time I went, I promised the husband I would be home 'about 11' as we were only going somewhere local. Fast forward to 4am and I had just made it home, having met a friend of a friend of a friend in The Good Fortune, going back to their house and eating and drinking them out of house and home. See? the Good Fortune certainly lived up to its name.
  
  As the food is pretty cheap - around £7 for a main course and £4 for a starter, you shouldn't expect Chinese fine cuisine. What you should expect is good sized portions and good tasty food. They also don't mind if you just keep ordering lots of starters to go with your wine.
  
  A great place for couples, families and it's very popular with groups too. Even though the larger groups are usually on a mission to get p%^^&*d, there is always a happy relaxed atmosphere.
  
  The Good Fortune is always popular, so don't turn up at the weekend if you haven't booked. Even if you have booked, you may have a bit of a wait in the tiny area at the front. Be prepared for that and take comfort from the fact that they let you open your wine while you are waiting. Another little bit of good fortune!
